DuPont’s Project Icarus was conceived and designed to inspire cultural change, drive increased collaboration and foster strong employee engagement. DuPont envisioned a LEED building that would also be supported by areas demonstrating environmental consciousness and wellness.
This included an on‐site medical center, gymnasium, a client/ employee key focus areas and a Town Hall constructed and designed with a Skyfold wall system to make it flexible and adaptable for audiences up to 400.Being a LEED facility the use of existing furniture systems allowed DuPont to gain additional credits. Bringing existing panel heights down allowed for openness, collaboration and optimized natural light – an essential component of LEED.
The design also included numerous breakout areas on the ground floor, and senior management were moved out of private offices and into open collaborative spaces. Employee engagement was further supported through the design of a full-service cafeteria and a relaxing and interactive employee space.
